Girl walks into a bar...

There's a new movie premiering tomorrow, March 11th, starring Danny DeVito, Josh Hartnett, Carla Gugino, Rosario Dawson, Robert Forster and Zachary Quinto. It's called Girl Walks Into a Bar (2011) It's directed by Sebastian Gutierrez and it's supposed to be some kind of supernatural comedy. Now that's all fine and dandy, but what's so special about that you might ask? Well the movie gets it's world premiere on YouTube and you can watch it there tomorrow, of course for free.

Link here.

I'm not a big fan of watching movies from my computer, I like the couch and big telly better. But I'm going to watch it as I think this might be a glimpse of the future of movie distribution. Like Life in a Day and Home were, but this time it's a fictional commercial movie, not a documentary. As a side note, if you haven't seen either of those, I well recommend them, even though Home is at parts a bit too tedious with it's tree hugger mentality, but it surely looks stunning so better watch it in HD. Funny thing is that Life in a Day however can't be watched from there anymore even though Google (who owns YouTube) itself was producing it. I'm smelling greed...

Well it wasn't really supernatural comedy, even though that's what the press release said. But it wasn't that bad for a movie where actually nothing happens but people chat in various bars. Review to follow...
