Life in a Day (2011)
80.000 videos, over 4500 hours of footage, all shot on one day all over the world. Put Ridley Scott with his brother Tony to produce it and Kevin Macdonald to squeeze it all together in a 90 minute documentary. What do you get? Something absolutely remarkable, this thing called life. This documentary depicts a day on earth from the early moments before dawn to the last minutes of the day before midnight. Following the daily activities of hundreds of people, kind of like a short glimpse to their life. It's thrilling, horrible, beautiful, ugly, lovely, sad, funny, angering, interesting, dull and entertaining. Most of those all at the same time. I really have no words to review this movie, actually can't even call it a movie, this is life and life is quite amazing. Sure looking at it critically it just scratches the surface, but it manages to poke on the right areas to cover enough of what makes life so magnificent. I watched this from YouTube on it's world premiere and I really hope there will be another way to see this in the future too as this was so remarkable that I surely would want to watch it again. I was laughing when I was thinking on how do I rate this. Well, how do you rate life?
