The Green Hornet (2011)
I'm a huge fan of the original series and was really waiting for the movie version for quite some time now. From all the rumours that I read all of them were somewhat intriguing, but once I saw who were actually making this all my hopes came crashing down. Seth Rogen as Britt Reid couldn't be further from what the character needed. All of the finesse and style the original series had was basically washed out just by him. Jay Chou as Kato is a complete miss as well, I mean come on, some wimpy Taiwanese pop star to fill in the shoes of Bruce Lee. Even Christoph Waltz seemed like a bad choice for the part. Simply a total miss on the casting. Luckily the director, Michel Gondry, was somewhat interesting, but in the end his vision was not really saving the movie. Actually some of the visual trickery was quite annoying. The car was nice and there were some nice scenes in there. At parts the movie even worked surprisingly well, but it went a bit over board eventually and the bad cast just can't carry the weight of the movie in their shoulders. All in all a bad movie that does no justice to the original series.
