I just saw quite a remarkable documentary about making Star Wars (1977). It's a fan made effort that follows the movie, but takes another look at it, behind the scenes. Built with alternate and unused takes, material from the set, effects shots, make-up and whatnot. It's almost like being on the set when they made the film. With tons of great info it's a must see for all Star Wars fans out there and pretty much anyone even a bit interested in how movies are made. It's split into 14 parts, all 10 minutes in length so reserve some time to go through them, it isn't easy to stop watching before the last part. You can watch it by clicking the link below.
Star Wars Begins - Part 1
And if that's not enough, he also made similar treatments to the other parts as well.
Building Empire - Part 1
Returning to Jedi - Part 1
My hat goes off for the guy, brilliant job.
