Centurion (2010)
Was kinda looking forward for this as Neil Marshall is one of the most interesting new horror/violence genre directors. So his take on, in this case a rather fictional, Roman history was surely interesting to begin with. And for sure violent it was. So much that at some points I got rather annoyed by all the CGI blood, which didn't look even close to realistic. Not that I know what it looks like when hordes of soldiers beat eachother to death, but it had that computer imagery all around it. Anyways, past that it sure was entertaining with not many boring moments. The story was quite basic with your fair share of backstabbing. Nothing new in that department, but it didn't bother that much as the action was the main point here in the end. Was pleasantly surprised by the two woman warriors, they were very good. Marshall already showed on The Descent that he can create strong female characters and that shows here too. Rest of the cast was quite good also and the movie looked very nice. Unfortunately didn't get any wow reaction out of the movie so in the end it was only a good movie worth the watch. Though I'll most likely give it another watch in the future too.
