Restraint (2008)

Saw the trailer and got interested, but when I saw that poster I began to have second thoughts wether I really want to see this or not. Well I went to see it anyways. Unfortunately it was more like the poster than the trailer. The movie looks great, it's shot really beautifully. The plot reminded a lot like Funny Games which wasn't a good thing as I noticed comparing these two and of course this one didn't cope in the competition. A couple, who have just killed two men, take a lonely man hostage and terrorise his solitary life. The plot is simple so there's lots of room for the characters. Unfortunately they are the usual stereotypes and are left way too superficial to be interesting. The cast is nothing special, they do their parts an are forgotten soon after. Thou Teresa Palmer is one sexy lady and we get to see a lot of her posing in Eve's costume. Those scenes lifted the interest up, but not enough to make this a good movie.
