The Air I Breathe (2007)
Another melodrama of 4 people who cross their paths and affect unknowingly each others lives. This is a fine example of the power of the script. The movie looks and sounds amazing. The mood and the pace of the movie are pretty much perfect. The cast make strong performances. Forest Whitaker of course is awesome, but much to my surprise even Brendan Fraser and Sarah Michelle Gellar do a really good job. So everything seems to be great. Sadly no. The script is just stupid and I found myself laughing at the plot twists as they were either so predictable that I really thought I had seen this one before or they came out of the blue sky. As the end becomes a bit too predictable as the movie goes on, I sincerely hoped they have something better to offer than what everyone can see coming. But no, it just left me thinking "come on you can do better than this". So it's basicly a great movie without a story. Had they put as much effort on the script as the other parts this would have been a brilliant movie. Now it's barely average.
