The Promotion (2008)

A comedy that doesn't make you laugh out loud, but still is good, is it possible? Well yes it is as this movie proves. I had a smile on throughout the film even thou there wasn't any bursts of laughter. This is a smart little comedy about two assistant managers of a grocery store who are both after the same promotion. Played in a small tone and really focusing on the characters with a good vibe all through the movie. I worked in a grocery store about 10 years ago myself so I could really relate to the characters. And the humor was right on the spot. The cast was quite good and handled the roles nicely. But there wasn't really anything new to the movie and it left me with little to nothing in the end. Sure it was an entertaining feel good movie, but in the end it unfortunately falls to the vast void of averageness.
