A slapstick comedy on a mega scale

The General (1927)

Being a big Jackie Chan fan, Buster Keaton's movies always work like magic to me. And even thou this is more of an action movie than a straight forward slapstick, it's still one of his best movies. A man who has the two loves of his life, a woman and a locomotive, taken away from him, goes on an impossible mission to take them back in the middle of the civil war. That's the start of an adventure you won't forget. The stunts, as always, are just mindblowing. And think of the year this was made, they had no idea of a safety wires or cgi effects, it's just pure lunacy what he does. Or in better words it's stunningly brilliant what he does. Can't think of anyone who wouldn't like this movie. Even thou it's not as overly funny as most of Keaton's movies, it's still highly entertaining and a loveable classic.
