The Tourist (2010)
Everyone seems to be after Alexander Pearce, the mafia, the police, his girlfriend and eventually even an American tourist. He has stolen two billion dollars from the mafia, changed his appearance with plastic surgery and is hiding somewhere in Venice. When his girlfriend, played by Angelina Jolie, cons a tourist, played by Johnny Depp, to be a decoy for the police, they end up falling in love. So things get of course complicated and there's no shortage of twists and thrills. Haven't seen the original, Anthony Zimmer (2005), so can't compare them. Anyway, this was a light hearted little action movie that plays it safe. There's not much excitement as you know things will be fine, come on it's Depp and Jolie, they can't kill them. Also the end twist was way too predictable to keep the excitement up. But it's not a bad movie, though surely not a good one either, it's a fun predictable safe entertainment that keeps you warm and cozy while you watch it, but leaves you nothing as you leave the theatre. Was expecting a lot more from the director as his first movie was quite great.
