An epic of meaningless mediocrity

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010)

When I saw the trailer of this movie I thought this is not for me and was not planning on watching it. Then it hit the theatres and surprisingly people whose taste in movies quite similar to mine were saying it's very good. Then I thought ok I'll give it a go when it's out on DVD, so now it is and I did. Well I was surprised, but yet disapointed. Surprised that I actually managed to watch it through, disapointed that it was what I feared it to be. It was entertaining, tons of eye candy and cartoony game effects. I even laughed at parts. But it was quite shallow meaningless nonsense and the biggest problem was that as the end credits rolled it was already out of my mind. I mean I'm writing this less than an hour after I saw it and I'm having hard time to remember anything substantial about it. Guess I have to say I'm too old for this shit.
