Those Fockers who keep making these movies

Got off from work early today so I thought I'd catch a movie in the theatre. Well, I didn't have much to choose from as it was so early, 3 movies I had already seen and Tangled (2010), The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) or Little Fockers (2010). Not much to choose from so I went for the last one. Having seen the previous parts I thought it would have a couple of laughs and keep me entertained for a while. As it's a sequel I'll do a quick review of the previous parts here as well.

Meet the Parents (2000)

I actually quite like this one. It's not the best comedy out there but the themes of it are quite great and even though it at times goes to the stupid over the top comedy, it manages to stay most of the time on the more identifiable common side of it. Robert De Niro has tried a lot of comedy roles, with most of them being very bad, but on this one he fits quite well. The rest of the cast isn't bad either, though I'm getting a bit tired of Ben Stiller always playing a similar part, but then again that's what his comedy is built on. All in all an entertaining comedy with not many dull moments, so certainly worth the watch.

Meet the Fockers (2004)

The first part pretty much covered what ever there was to cover in the control freak father-in-law department, so there wasn't much left for that in this one. And those jokes felt a bit forced in this one. But luckily the Focker parents were quite hilarious, perfect casting with Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand. They save the movie when the script fails. Kept me entertained through it, but still felt a bit pointless sequel.

Little Fockers (2010)

Even though I wasn't exactly looking forward to seeing this, I hoped it would keep me etertained for 2 hours. Well unfortunately it really didn't. After the first 30 minutes I thought this has to be the worst movie I've seen in ages. Luckily it got a lot better around the middle part, with some quite nice scenes. Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel screaming to eachother was quite a fun little moment and there were a few others that got me smiling and even laughing at parts. But towards the end it went bad again. Recycling the basic idea of the first part just doesn't work, no matter how many new faces you put in it. This story was already told, so no point in telling it again. So even though there were some fun bits in the middle, unfortunately it didn't keep me entertained throughout and left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
