The Seventh Continent (1989)
A family gets bored of their monotonic isolated life and decides to do something quite out of the ordinary. And as it's Haneke's film you're sure to be in for a hard tale. This was Haneke's first theatrical release and even though it has some flaws it's quite brilliant for a first one. Again the start is quite alienating, we follow the family in their dull day to day activities. Nothing much going on, but that's the point, their life is dull and they thrive for a change. Can't really tell much about it as less you know the better it works and because of that can't go into details what didn't really work and what did. It's an above average drama with a bit of flaws but yet very striking as it is.
